About the Journal

The Timor-Leste Journal of Medical Science is an annual scientific journal of the Institute of Health Sciences in Dili, Timor-Leste (ICS). This journal publishes articles, original studies, pedagogical studies, essays and abstracts on all topics and problems related to health sciences in Timor-Leste, in the areas of nursing, pharmacy, midwifery, nutrition and dietetics, and biomedicine and laboratory analyses, from a pedagogical and scientific perspective.

The main objective of the ICS scientific journal is to promote possible solutions to the challenges of the present and the future in the areas of nursing, pharmacy, midwifery, nutrition and dietetics, biomedicine and laboratory analyses and sports sciences, among other areas of the health sciences.

The main objective of the Timor-Leste Journal of Medical Science is to promote the rigorous analysis of the health sciences in Timor-Leste from a pedagogical perspective (how to promote quality education [teaching and learning] [ensino e aprendizagem] to better train professionals in these areas) and a scientific perspective (how to overcome problems, obstacles and challenges in these scientific areas and in the practice of the professions in these areas), with a special focus on the areas of nursing, pharmacy, midwifery, nutrition and dietetics, biomedicine and laboratory analysis and sports science.
