THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARENTAL ROLES AND SEXUAL BEHAVIOR IN ADOLESCENTS AT SMA NEGERI 15 MEDAN IN 2024

Introduction: Premarital sexual behavior in adolescents is all adolescent behavior that is driven by sexual desire either with the opposite sex or the same sex that is done before there is an official relationship as husband and wife. The tendency of bad sexual behavior in adolescents is influenced by the wrong role of parents in caring for and raising children. Lack of parental supervision will accelerate adolescents to have sexual relations, parental supervision is an important factor that influences sexual behavior in adolescents.
Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between the role of parents and sexual behavior in adolescents at SMA Negeri 15 Medan in 2024.
Methods: The research design used in this study is correlational using a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique in this study used Proportional Random Sampling so that a sample of 207 respondents was obtained.
Results: The results of this studied indicate that the role of parents in adolescents at SMA Negeri 15 Medan is mostly good (69.1%) with adolescent sexual behavior in the good category as much as (85.0%). The results of statistical tests using the Chi Square test obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05).
Conclusions: So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the role of parents and adolescent sexual behavior at SMA Negeri 15 Medan in 2024. The researcher hopes that adolescents will be able to realize that they are still in the process of growing by obtaining information about sex education so that adolescents have good knowledge and do not have deviant sexual behavior.
